Christmas Crackers

These cute and squishy crackers have a secret pocket at the back and can be re-filled year after year. Make your crackers with a smiley face, or decorate them with ribbon bows or holly leaves for a more traditional look. Without the toy eyes, these crackers would make super Christmas presents for your pooch or kitty pals. In each cracker’s little slip pocket you can add a sweet treat, or use as a name card holder for place settings, or write your own funny motto to read at dinner. This pattern features picots, with a picot hem for the frilled ends, and a picot cast off. Instructions are also included to make the cracker without a pocket. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the crackers are knit in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, stranded colour-work, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish. Each cracker is 27cm long.
