double act is one of 13 designs in the Jubilæum Collection], celebrating 10 years of Ziggurating and design.
Wear double act any which way you please – there really is no right or wrong way to drape this versatile poncho – sideways or traditional poncho style, ribbing to the front, mosaic to the back or reverse.
double act is made up by two joined rectangles – one knitted in a mosaic pattern, the other in a simple mistake rib. The completed rectangles are joined with 3-needle bind offs using live and picked up stitches. (It makes for a quite beautiful join.)
The knitting is both interesting and easy. Alright, so the mosaic pattern requires a little more focus, but is worked in pairs of rows and just one colour at a time. If you cast on for both rectangles you can alternate between them as your knitting mood dictates.
There are charts along with fully written out instructions, photo tutorials and a schematic.
