Product Description
This headband can be worn turban style or with the twist positioned at the side, as shown in the photo. While it may look difficult, it is very easy and has both written and very clear charted instructions. Only the twisted portion requires a cable needle. The rest of the headband requires only knit, purl and slipped stitches. This project can be completed in two evenings.
The gauge for this pattern is not very important as it will only effect the width of the headband.
A variety of Sport weight yarns are suitable for this headband, depending on whether the wearer likes acrylic or natural fibers. I have suggested a few. As with all cable patterns, the yarn selected should be a solid color, and not fuzzy (aka 'good stitch definition') so that your expert cabling work will be shown to best advantage! The sample in the photo was worked up in 100% reclaimed cashmere. A link to my tips and other online directions for reclaiming wool from used sweaters is provided in the pattern.
