Very luxurious yarn. Silky soft, lustrous finish. I used it to knit a knot-stitch scarf and it is beautiful. It is a bit pricy but you have to expect that if you are purchasing 100% cashmere. It was easy to work and the stitch definition is very good. One person thought it was "coarse". I don't know if she got a "bad batch" or what, but the yarn I received was soft, silky and totally lovely.

this product totally surprised me because i always thought cashmere was supposed to be a luxury yarn, soft and special. when i opened the package, i thought i had gotten the wrong yarn. it felt coarse. it also felt like it had a residue on it as i wound the hank into a ball. i started knitting with it and it just didn't feel good so i called customer service to see what they had to say. i was advised to create a swatch and block it (it was a scarf so i didn't need a swatch for this project initially). so i created a swatch and spent a while just kneading the fabric hoping it would soften up from that. it did soften up but then i really did feel a residue on it because my fingertips felt tacky. i then washed it and after it dried it was definitely softer but still felt coarse for 100% cashmere and the price i paid for it. the scarf that i had started to knitt prior to the blocking of the swatch was so coarse and dull. the yarn looked "dead". it had absolutely no sheen to it and no real spring to the yarn. i had read the reviews prior to buying so i thought i was getting a soft wonderful yarn. maybe it's just me, i don't know but i was so surprised (and disappointed) with this yarn.

Comments about 47.00 4-Ply Mongolian Cashmere:

I crocheted a scarf for my daughter. The color was much darker than appeared in the photo on website and the feel of the yarn was more like soft cotton than cashmere.

I am knitting a pillow cover w/ many cables on
size 5 needles. 3 skeins of yarn will only make
one side of a 18" square and I need two.
                Disappointing!!!!
