Knit the Champagne Cardigan

PetiteKnit’s Champagne Cardigan is a classic for so many reasons. It is a simple yet elegant cardigan with fine details. In this class we will review German short rows and M1 right/left followed by plenty of plain old stockinette. The cuffs and hem are finished using the Italian BO. The beautiful button placket begins with few Italian CO stitches before moving into a double knit button band with incorporated vertical button holes.

For the comfort and safety of our students and teachers, students may be asked to wear a mask during in person classes and workshops, and masks are available upon request.

Format: In-Person

Prerequisite: Knitting 2 or equivalent

Materials Required:  You will need a copy of the pattern, enough yarn for your size including extra for swatches, #7 needles (16”, 24” and 32-40”), #7 DPNs, #2.5 40” circulars, #2.5 DPNs. 4, 1” buttons, standard knitters kit with colored stitch markers. Great yarn choices are Valley Yarns Northampton, Rowan Kid Classic, Tahki Fine Tweed held with Valley Yarns Southampton. 

HOMEWORK: Before 1st class: a gauge swatch, plus a 8” x 8” swatch without any borders left live on the needles (we will use this to practice all our techniques).
