I only ordered these because I had lost my old one and was housebound and they could be included with my yarn order. My old one was an elongated U shape and gave me no trouble -- stayed behind my work securely. These tend to fall right out of the stitches they are meant to hold and require gymnastics to hold on to them and knit the cable at the same time -- a misbegotten design; but the quality is fine
