Malabrigo Arroyo is a super soft, superwash merino wool in Malabrigo's gorgeous colors. The versatile sport weight is a great choice for finer gauge projects with beautiful stitch definition — perfect for garments, accessories, and more! Malabrigo Arroyo is produced in dye lots of 5. Any order for more than 5 skeins will be of mixed dye lots. Some colors do not contain any dye lots..

Hand-dyed yarns have subtle variations in colors that are natural and may vary from skein to skein.  There may be differences between pictures shown and the yarn you receive. To ensure the best results for your project:

  • Buy enough yarn for your entire project at one time.
  • When using hand-dyed yarn in your project work two rows from one skein and two rows from another skein to give an overall blended effect.

    This is my first choice. In all the years Ive crafted with Malabrigos this yarn never disappoints. Great feel while making garments. Colorways beautiful. Consistent top quality. Amazing drape holding its shape for many years.

    I use this yarn quite a bit for making sweaters for little children. I am currently using it for the Knitting for Olive sweater, which has an all over lace pattern, calling for using one strand of mohair and one strand of fingering weight yarn. I find the Arroyo yarn to be a suitable, machine washable substitute. The colors are glorious and have an almost metallic sheen that makes the lace pattern a true masterpiece. I particularly love the ochre and sunset colors that glow like autumn leaves with very subtle color shifts that don’t interfere with the lace pattern. I always order more than I think I may need because when changing skeins the colors might not be a perfect match. Also, after trying many different colors, I have found that in the skein they may look very intense, but oddly they calm down when knitted up in a swatch. Be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.
