So soft
Lovely soft yarn, a tiny bit splitty, but as long as you're careful it works up well.

Soft and cozy, Malabrigo Mecha is 100% superwash wool. Mecha means "single ply" in Uruguayan Spanish and this bulky weight yarn is one strand of gently twisted wool with a light halo and oodles of color. Mecha is saturated in Malabrigo's signature deep, rich tones. Imagine this sumptuous, squishy wool worked up into a favorite sweater or stunning accessories, all so easy to care for!
Please note: Malabrigo Mecha is produced in dye lots of 10. Any order for more than 10 hanks will be of mixed dye lots. Some colors do not have any dye lots..
Hand-dyed yarns have subtle variations in colors that are natural and may vary from skein to skein. There may be differences between pictures shown and the yarn you receive. To ensure the best results for your project:

Lovely soft yarn, a tiny bit splitty, but as long as you're careful it works up well.
I just finished my project last evening, and it turned out beautiful. I had purchased 10 hanks of Malabrigo Mecha and spent about three weeks in crochet heaven. There were a few knots, but they were done correctly....small, and won't come undone. The yarn is like silk through my fingers. This is the third project I have made like this one with this yarn, and they all turned out fantastic. Didn't even have to block it. I would buy this yarn again in a second.
I use it for items worn around the face such as balaclavas, ear warmers, and hats. I undersize the needle, producing a more wind resistant knit. The Mecha does not get stiff when using a needle one size smaller. It has a good twist which yields fast knits for colorwork or 'fancier' stitch patterns.
So hard to tell yarn color from a monitor. I love the yarn but returned it due to problematic color.
This is a beautiful color, however it is not good for felting. The description online does not say it has been treated to be a washable wool. I need all the info to make an informed purchase!!!
Malabrigo has some of the most vibrant colorways, and Mecha has a buttery feel and slight gloss that makes the colors pop even more. It’s squashy but with a wonderful drape and great warmth - perfect for outerwear garments that will keep you warm but won’t make you itch!
Loved working with Mecha. Bouncy, so soft, excellent stitch definition, love the single-ply and of course Malabrigos colorways. Little bit of a pain to wind a ball, but well worth it. Needed 3 skeins for 2 hats but used a “yarn-eater” stitch
Iv purchased this yarn in the past from other stores and it was lovely. The skein I bought from Webs this time had several sections where the yarn was so fuzzy that I had to cut it and splice when it turned normal again. This is not fuzzy yarn normally. It looked like it was damaged or a “second”. Also, I realize there are no dye lots with malabrigo mecha, but I had to buy 1 skein to finish a sock pattern I misjudged and the new skein was very different in base color. So- if you use this yarn,...
Versatile, will definitely buy more
Soft, warm, cozy, soft, nice to work with, need I say more? This yarn is beautiful and a delight to work with. It's a little more delicate than I'm used to, but it should be perfectly fine if you don't frog it 6 times like I did. You don't even have to work with the yarn to appreciate it. I could hold and squish a ball of it all day. The colors are so vibrant and lovely.
