Manos del Uruguay Fino is a soft, shiny single-ply fingering weight yarn in exquisite hand-dyed colors. The luxurious blend of merino and silk gives Fino a soft hand and gorgeous drape.

Fino is hand dyed in large kettles to create a marbleized, subtly striated effect that forms a rich palette of glorious colors. No two skeins are exactly alike and there are no dye lots. Colors may vary greatly.

We recommend buying enough yarn to complete a project. If there is great difference between skeins, we recommend working two rows from one skein and two rows from another skein to give an overall blended effect. Made in Uruguay.

I'm incredibly disappointed in this yarn. It feels great, but the color is so drab and uniform. It doesn't look hand-dyed at all. It was so far off from the picture, that I thought I'd been shipped the wrong color, so I checked the tag and it was the correct yarn. Instead of the vibrant variegated red in the picture, it's an burnt burgundy all the way through. I'm not inspired by this yarn at all, which is disappointing based on the price.

I have the watered silk colorway. It has beautiful subtle color variation with pale blues and touches of lavender.

You do need to be a little careful when converting from the skein to a ball as the yarn tends to get tangled easily because it seems to adhere to itself but as long as you are patient it is well worth it. Some reviews have complained about the dyeing not being done properly, but I have used 2 of the colors peacock plume (2 skeins) for a Shawl and havisham(3 skeins) for a sweater and they were both great.

This is the first lightweight yarn I have used. I'm glad I splurged for Fino. I chose the Watered Silk color. It is perfect, just enough pink, very subtle. I couldn't believe how soft it is. I look forward to using it again, maybe Rainwater.

The yarn is single ply and lovely to work with. No splitting or snagging. It freely moves across the needles and has a wonderful sheen to it.

I had always placed a high esteem on the Manos brand but had never actually tried Fino before. It lived up to all my expectations and was a pleasure to work with. I will definitely reach for it again.
