Plymouth Yarn Encore Chunky Yarn - Acrylic Chunky

Purchased this yarn to knit a throw as a wedding gift. I was looking for something that held it's stitch definition but wasn't too stiff AND would be easy to care for later. This has fit the bill perfectly. Using a four row pattern with garter borders and it's taking on a nice modern feel without feeling too heavy or bulky. I've used Plymouth Encore in worsted weight and it's always performed well - the chunky version seems to be just as successful.

Plymouth chunky was the yarn recommended for the project. I worked well and fast on 15 needles. The project required 2 skeins at once, and it became evident that the yarn skeins were very often varied in length. I'd finish 1 skein and still have a little ball left of the other. I just joined another skein and worked it thru.

Wonderful for baby sweaters. Machine washable and dryable.

I have used this yarn many times to knit a warm hooded sweater for a newborn. The colors are great, the yarn knits up beautifully, and I think all baby presents should be machine wash and dry. Oh, and the price is great!

This yarn is itchy and stiff. I used what the pattern recommended, and I'll never do that again. Bought two skeins, knitted it up, threw into the trash.

I've used Plymouth Yarns more than any other yarn, except for sock yarn, because it's easy to work with. It also can be put in the washer and dryer with no problems. Also, there are so many colors from which to choose.

Encore chunky is the perfect weight for making a Peruvian hat. It knits well and is machine washable and dryable.

I love encore yarn. The colors are beautiful. The yarn itself is easy to work with, is not prone to splitting. I have always used the worsted weight for sweaters and hats for kids. The chunky weight I now use for afghans. It is warm and soft and has a nice drape to it.

I’m making a rather large afghan blanket with the Plymouth Encore Chunky in Dark Teal (670). I bought 13 skeins. The yarn cost was excellent. Absolutely perfect yarn for the project. Soft and sturdy. Blanket recipient will be pleased…. hopefully!!! Pattern: Happy Endings by Fifty Four Ten Studio
