I am a previous yarn shop owner and I would absolutely recommend Sirdar Snuggly DK. It is a very soft yarn for knitting baby items, i.e., sweater, hat, booties or baby mittens or anything that will be close to a baby's skin. It is washable and dryable on gentle cycle. I also use Sirdar Snuggly DK to knit stuffed animals for babies and children and I have not seen pilling when using this yarn. It also knits up beautifully in shawls for adults as well.
Sirdar snuggly is just that: snuggly. It is washable and durable and comes in a large variety of colors. Perfect yarn choice for a baby gift of any variety. Webs got my yarn to me at my daughter’s several days before i left for home. I was able to work on this project during the ride.
I had unwisely purchased just one skein when beginning a project using this as the CJAYG joining yarn. It quickly became clear I would need at least three total... and in a misguided effort to find some domestically I ordered from elsewhere. It arrived and was completely different, not just in its color but in its entire weight and texture! Your CS folks were very helpful in helping me get my hands on three more skeins of the same lot#, but I didn't breathe a sigh of relief until they finally...
The color pallet was perfect for a baby girl project I'm working on. It knits up very nicely. I've used this yarn before and the project held up to little kid use and many washings.
WEBS sent two skeins of the “same” color pink Snuggly DK, different dye lots, different labels. I thought acrylic always stayed pretty true to color between lots, these are very noticeably different. I think this is both the fault of Webs (trying to get rid of one of an old lot) and the manufacturer.
I made newborn twins a sweater and hat. I needed the “precious pink” color. I already had other colors that I needed. I chose the Sirdar Snuggly DK since it can be machine washed and dried, an important consideration for baby items.
I have used sidar snuggly DK before and have always been very pleased with the results. It is soft and warm for the babies. The color doesn’t fade. CC
I love this yarn for baby sweaters. I’ve been using it for over 20 years. My only complaint is that is is getting more difficult to find.
I love working with this yarn. It's my go-to for making baby blankets. It knits up soft. It's machine washable. It's affordable and comes in so many wonderful colors and isn't a pain to work with - what more could you want from baby yarn?
