I wove a shawl and an infinity wrap with this yarn, and was so happy with the results I am about to order more. I wove the first two items with the same yarn as weft, but then I sampled using 8/2 tencel weft and the shiny/matte contrast is gorgeous, so my next pieces will use a tencel weft. THanks to all the reviewers who helped me realize a sett of 24 would work just fine for the diamond twill I used.

The yarn was beautiful but completely inaccurate and a different, lighter tone than what is described in the picture. The yarn itself, other thasn color us as described. The problem with the color was not due to different screen colors.. it was the same on every screen I opened it on, including the customer service representative I called at WEBS... they literally got up and grabbed a few cones and confirmed all of them were much lighter than what was described in picture... (while they were pleasant about it, I still had to ask for them to do this.)
Again, the color was beautiful but not a true representation of the picture and what was described.
The yarn itself is amazing, just the wrong color.

Comments about Yarn > Knitting Yarn 2/14 Alpaca Silk:

This yarn knits up beautifully. It is soft and easy to work with and correct mistakes. The finished product of a lace shawl is stunning. The only con I have with this product is that in the joining of plies in production there are small knots in the individual plies that will come apart with tension. Keeping an eye out as you knit for these is important however I have this in three different colors and will continue to work with it.

Love the way this yarn works up...it's lovely and soft and blocks easily and well. The colors are many and true throughout. I only have one complaint (and that's due to my own ineptitude). It's rather hard to unravel when you make a mistake...it catches and snarls when you're ripping out. This is my fifth project with the same yarn, and you can tell how much I love it...I keep going back to it!

I used this yarn on a Brother Knitting machine. It runs smoothly, works well in a variety of gauges and techniques, and is easy to manipulate. The finished product is lightweight, smooth, soft and does not pill. The color is even. Drying time afer hand washing is relatively quick. A good yarn all around.

          Best Uses

Comments about Yarn > Knitting Yarn 2/14 Alpaca Silk:

I am using this yarn to knit a very large circular lace shawl with beads. I was concerned about the yarn's durability with the loose ply, so I have run the yarn through my spinning wheel to add a little twist. Also, as a result of the loose ply, the yarn has a tendency to split, especially when adding beads using the crochet hook method.

Otherwise I am happy with the texture, softness and stitch definition. The yarn is a little 'fuzzy' (likely due to the alpaca contact) so expect a bit of a halo.
