Valley Yarns #309 Midnight Garden Scarf

Adapted from a draft by Bertha Gray Hayes, this scarf turns a familiar overshot pattern into an appealing doubleweave scarf. Using only four shafts and a skeleton tie-up, these striking colors of 8/2 Tencel catch the eye and weave up into a striking accessory! 

Weave Structure: Doubleweave

Equipment: 4-shaft loom with at least 14” weaving width, 2 shuttles, 2 bobbins

Warp Yarn: Valley Yarns 8/2 Tencel (100% Lyocell, 3360 yds/lb) Lemongrass 600 yds, Red Purple 600 yds

Weft Yarn: Valley Yarns 8/2 Tencel (100% Lyocell, 3360 yds/lb) Lemongrass 396 yds, Red Purple 396 yds

Warp Length: 3 yds of 400 ends

Sett: 20 epi per layer, 40 epi total (4/dent in a 10-dent reed)
