We fell in love with this yarn at first sight. Valley Yarns Goshen is very soft! The Modal® and silk not only add a slight sheen, but also durablity. Garments will not pill and will stand the test of time.

I just finished a sweater for my daughter in law and a dress for my youngest granddaughter. What a delightful yarn to work with. Feels great in the hand and knits up beautifully. Love the light sheen the yarn gives to fabrics. Have now used 15+ balls of this yarn and have found not 1 knot in the skein. This is becoming my new favorite yarn. Hope it's not discontinued and that they add more colors.

Found it difficult to use. Slippery and quite slick, very difficult to maintain even tension on straight single points at recommended size. Size 8 was sloppy and irregular; size 7 achieved 4.5 sts to inch, but still rather sloppy. My only resolution was to knit circularly using SIZE 6 wood tip needle to help control tension and achieve a more balanced fabric swatch with a gauge of about 5 sts and 6 rows to the inch. Highly recommend using smaller needles than size 8 recommended to achieve a better hand in the fabric.

Comments about Yarn > Knitting Yarn Goshen:

Really nice cotton blend. I generally use wool blends but this is for a blanket, and I couldn't fathom a wool blanket in AZ. It's a little splitty but easy to work with if I'm paying attention, and came in a wonderful selection of colors. I'd definitely buy it again.

My daughter picked this yarn for me to knit her a pair of sock/slippers. She also picked the pattern. She had to have cotton, because all other yarns irritate her skin. The result was a very pretty, soft and well loved product. I highly recommend this yarn to all who want a great cotton yarn.

I love the color and texture of this yarn, but (maybe like all cotton? I usually use wool) it stretched like CRAZY, so that the diameter of my hat increased by 2.5 inches in just a few wearings. !. Or maybe it's dumb to make cotton hats?

I loved the yarn ... used it for a "Sweet Georgia" cowl pattern for my daughter for Christmas. She loves 10 color striped cowl and wears it all the time. It's long enough to pull up over her head to guard against a snowy day.

Currently making a sweater in colonial blue for my daughter who lives out of town. It will take a while to finish as I am adjusting the pattern to make it fit properly and I see her in person only a few times a year. The yarn knits nicely. And I can go back a few rows to change an increase and then re-knit and it all works well. Good quality yarn. pretty color.

I was very disappointed in the color of the yarn I received. "Lake" appears to be a lovely turquoise on the WEBS site, but is in fact a dull, insipid light blue.

Comments about Yarn > Knitting Yarn Goshen:

I love this cotton. Cotton is my favorite yarn and I have collected most of all the common brands. First of all Goshen qualifies as a luxury cotton. That is it is not made for only kitchen items or craft cotton items. Here you will have the means to produce lovely blouses, tops, and other warm weather apparel. The cotton is also durable. My washclothes maintained a new look through several washloads. The mixture is interesting. Modal is another form of cotton, one that is satin-like with nice drape and silk not only adds shine but makes the cotton very strong. My next project will be an old fashioned heirloom granny square blanket now that I've found a product I can trust to put in the hours on! The wonderful low price and range of colors cannot be beat! If you ever find this on a rare sale do not hesitate. Enjoy!
