A spectacular blend of baby alpaca, merino wool, and a hint of nylon works beautifully in Valley Yarns Peru—a yarn with a chainette construction. The slightly heathered look adds interest to the final, finished fabric.

Soft as a cloud, but snag-prone while knitting

Comments about VALLEY YARNS Peru:

I used this to make Chemknit's GENEie, the cable-knit DNA beanie, for a co-worker for the March for Science. The slight color variations add a nice depth of interest to the final fabric, which is unfathomably soft! My only complaint is that the chainette construction and perhaps my knitting style mean that the yarn is splitty/snaggy while I knit.

    Comments about VALLEY YARNS Peru:

I am using five colors of Peru (Sagebrush, Starry NIght, Purple Magic, Sunset,Red Maple) to make a shawl, mixing in Filatura di Crosa Minitempo in Tobacco Road for texture. It's a little heavier than I predicted but the finished product will be very cozy and colorful. Using size 11 24" cable needles. 279 stitches to cast on, changing colors every 1 1/2" to 2 inches, bands of three strands of Minitempo or one strand Minitempo and one strand Peru at color changes, fringes of all colors mixed. Planning for 16" wide, almost there! A very fun project.

    SOFTEST YARN EVER!

    Comments about VALLEY YARNS Peru:

I used this yarn to make a hat for my son-in-law. It was amazingly soft and easy to work with. The stitches melded together and it looked more like a fabric when it was finished. Loved working with this and will definitely be looking for future projects to use it for. My SIL has commented on the warmth and softness.

    Comments about VALLEY YARNS Peru:

This yarn is beautiful. The colors are deep and textured. I made scarves with the yarn. I really liked how the yarn seemed to have substance when worked into a pattern.
