Nice soft yarn-beautiful hand, shows great stitch definition and available in many lovely colors. And like most of the Valley yarn line, very economically priced. I have only one gripe about this yarn. I found out by accident that it shrinks and will keep shrinking. And it felts too. I had a pair of socks go from a 11.5" long foot to a 7" long foot. I love this yarn for nice heavy cozy socks but will only use it AFTER I pre shrink the dickens out of it (boiling water-ice bath X5 shock) It's a great yarn but be careful washing the finished garment.

I submitted an earlier review of this yarn, but I am submitting another because my experience with the second ball was even worse than with the first. In the two balls, I encountered five knots, two broken plies, and one poorly spun section. In one hat, I now have 16 additional ends to weave in. Completely unacceptable.

    Comments about   " Valley Superwash:

This is a nice yarn to work with. It 100% wool, but not scratchy at all - it's nice and soft. The yarn comes in many lovely colors. I haven't washed it yet so I can't speak to that. I only wish that washing instructions were written on the yarn wrapper. I give away most of what I make and like to give washing instructions to the recipients.

Thought I would try this since it was shown as comparable to Cascade, but the yarn is much more coarse, and just doesn't have that feel to it.

I love this yarn. It is expensive and not always worth spending so much on a sweater a child can wear for a year. But, it is truly a wonderful yarn!

My mom used this to make a beautiful sweater for my daughter. She used much smaller needles than suggested, so it turned out really warm and still soft and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this yarn.

Knit my grandson a sweater coat in a weave pattern. I loved holding this yarn in my hands. Haven't assembled the pieces yet but the individual pieces are squishy and soft.
