Sara Delaney

SARA DELANEY’S  Memaire taught her how to crochet at age seven and to knit at age nine. Driven by a constant urge to craft, she spent her early years inundating her family and friends: scarves, hats, afghans and anything else she could slap paint on or put together with brads, school glue and embroidery floss. After the birth of her two daughters in the early 00’s Sara became more interested in the mechanics of her stitches and the underlying architecture of what she was creating. After successfully making two human beings, how hard could it be, really? She couldn’t be happier with the experience of empowering her students to learn in a way that is comfortable for them and reminding them that “There is NO right way to hold your hook. There is only what is right for you!”

Sara has been at WEBS bringing crochet to the unhooked masses since 2006. You can find her first book How to Crochet - a Storey Basics title on the shelf at your lys or local bookstore. You can find her First Crochet Cardigan class on Craftsy.com and you can find her teaching classes at the MA Sheep and Woolcraft Fair in Cummington each May, as well as the NY State Sheep & Wool Festival in Rhinebeck each October.

She promises never to teach you crochet her Memaire’s way - chain until you can do it with your eyes closed and your hands behind your back. Although if you need a good party trick...

Simply the Best!

By Lynn

from Ludlow, MA

Comments about Sara Delaney:

Sara is a very conscientious patient and knowledgeable of her subject matter! I was self taught and she confirmed that I was doing ok! She taught me not to fear stitch markers! I learned so much from her and started taking courses just because she was teaching them. I have branched out and taken a lot of crochet and knitting course but all the classes I take with other pale in comparison, although I enjoy every class I take at Webs!

    Comments about Sara Delaney:

I had a great time in Sara Delaney's Crochet 1 class. She is light hearted, humorous, and yet keeps all the fun on task of learning the basics of crochet. Expect to learn alot and have fun while doing it!
