Product Details

English style knitters are known as “throwers” and Continental style knitters are known as “pickers”. Whichever method you use to knit, your stitches look the same, it’s your process that is different. The Continental method of knitting requires that you hold the working yarn in your left hand. With the Continental style, the working yarn remains stationary while the right needle is wielded to do most of the work. For this reason, knitting in the Continental style can result in faster knitting. You don’t have to pause to throw your yarn as you do in English style knitting. Working stitch patterns like seed and ribbing is a smoother process for pickers. For throwers, moving the yarn back and forth for each stitch can be too tedious and time-consuming.

In this class you will learn to:

Tension your yarn in your left hand.

Knit, purl and work ribbing, cables, and lace.

Work increases and decreases.

You will receive the Zoom link 1-2 business days before the virtual class.

Approximately 50 yards of worsted weight yarn (preferably in a solid, light color)
