What’s New, and How to Pick From It

New yarn means new lines, not new colors of old favorites. Only lines with stock show up here, so what you see is ready to ship.

Start with weight

Check the label weight before fiber or color. It decides your needle or hook size, your gauge, and which patterns the yarn will work in. If you already have a pattern in mind, filter this page by its weight first.

Then look at fiber

  • Wool and merino: warm, elastic and forgiving, good for sweaters, hats and first projects.
  • Cotton, linen and plant blends: cool and crisp with clear stitch definition, good for summer tops, dishcloths and amigurumi.
  • Mohair, alpaca and cashmere blends: soft with a halo or drape, good for shawls, accessories and holding together with a smoother yarn.
  • Acrylic and acrylic blends: easy care, good for baby items, blankets and everyday wear.

Swatch before you swap

Subbing a new yarn into a pattern you already own? Match the weight, then knit or crochet a gauge swatch and wash it. Yarns with the same label weight can still knit up to different sizes and drape differently.
