I tried to like this but it is very unpleasant to work with. For the price I expect better. Will use as scrap and send the other back.
While I do not normally wear purple, this yarn looked so perfect to knit socks to wear with jeans and sandals that I bought it from Webs. I am happy with the yarn and particularly happy with the Webs site. The picture is true, the description complete. Notice that the name of the yarn is perfect to help a buyer choose this product.
I liked the texture of the yarn though it seemed to be more like a dk rather than a fingering weight probably because it was on the fuzzier side. I returned it because the colors did not match what I saw on screen. I ordered heather and denim colors; the denim was more like a navy rather than the varigated, weathered look that appeared on screen; the heather was a lot more subdued/faded than what appeared on-screen.
Wonderful yarn, had to buy another skein, matched beautifully. Loved the softness of the yarn and the great cloth it makes.
I used this yarn for making Selbu mittens and gloves with great success.
great to work with
Bought this for a colorwork sweater and was a bit disappointed. It is on the thin side for fingering weight and rather loosely plied. I had to buy a rounder yarn to make the colorwork sections pop. On the positive side, the colors are nice, the yarn fluffs up after blocking, and washing makes it a bit softer.
It's not soft and it's splitty. I bought this yarn bc of the cost (I need 1400y) and the color was close to what I needed. Now I'm sorry I didn't go with something else. I'm knitting a shawl for my f dil to wear after wedding ceremony (if needed). May return unused skeins. But I'm running out of time to get this done.
This yarn is excellent. It comes in a wide variety of colorways, and knits up great. It is even washable! I've made many beautiful lace wraps with this lovely yarn.
I'm knitting a Vneck pullover using a strand of the Borroco fingering and a strand of mohair. I'm halfway finished!
