Donegal Luxury Tweed by Debbie Bliss is a wonderful and traditional single ply yarn. With its beautiful colors, this is a great yarn for sweaters, accessories or an afghan.

The color and tweed is very pretty. Though I did find the yarn very scratchy to work with. I did a swatch for the Donegal Tweed Coat pattern that I purchased the yarn for and found it very rough on my hands and realized it was not suitable for a child’s sweater.

I very much enjoy the Debbie Bliss Aran Luxury Tweed yarns. The colors range from neutrals to soft to deeply saturated. The tweed bits add an interest and a depth that does not detract from the stitch detail. I realize now that I prefer tweed to any variegated or multi-colorways based on the results from knitting with and then enjoying the results. I wish they would bring back the chunky version of these gorgeous yarns. I also wish they would come in 100gm hanks of the aran.

Surprised at the thick & thin of the tweed makes a consistent gauge problematic as different colors are different thicknesses It’s disappointing as the treading actually makes thick spots in the yarn & is not woven in
