Garter Brim Hat - by Emily Wessel
This simple yet sophisticated hat showcases Noro Silk Garden’s colour changes; the colours shift gradually around the brim, and stripe more clearly through the top of the hat.
The way the hat is knit makes it easily customizable for a perfect fit.
Also, while it is simple, it provides an opportunity to learn several essential techniques; a provisional cast-on, grafting, and picking up stitches along an edge.
The pattern has instructions for 3 yarn weights; DK, Aran, and Bulky weights, which correspond to the 3 different weights of Noro’s Silk Garden yarn.
The samples were knit with Noro Silk Garden Lite (DK), Noro Silk Garden (Aran) and Noro Silk Garden Chunky (Bulky). Some suggested substitutes are shown below.
