I made a shawl with the Jojoland rhythm, turned out lovely. I plan on using the Melody for a sampler vintage pattern - it calls for a finer yarn - however I need a solid to join the squares or perhaps a nice black and grey color wave would add a sensational look using bright and different color waves for each of the squares. I would like to see black and greys in the Jojoland Rhythm rather than the Navy. I think this would be a great seller for making a nice Winter Shawl, Coat or Sweater that would go with everything. I also made several scarfs for gifts. I made a georgous entrelac queen size bedspread with Jojoland Rhythm - I mixed all the color waves. I was fortunate enough to find a huge bag of this at an estate sale. It was a rare bargain I might add. Amazing is a better word. There were over 80 balls of Jojoland Rhythm. I took advantage of the numerous color waves and created my prized possession - Siesta in the Pines - I love this Bedspread especially on my Queen Size Poster Bed. Delightfully cozy and extremely warm, however not too heavy. Perfect for the winter months. I ended up having to puchase about 15 more balls but it was worth the results. Glorious results and it was completely crocheted in rounds. Mine shows noticable color changes because I continuously worked in a circle. It is not symetrically correct - I did this with intent to give it a artsy or rag time appeal. In the years of past, they used any colors they had. I always found them to be most creative and love the scappy look this has. My Grandmother always used whatever she could even included adding a strand of string for strength she would say. She would use 2 strands if needed of this and that etc. I loved her dearly and was always fascinated with her wonderful creations. I am blessed to have worked with her and still remember her holding me on her lap while she had me feed fabric through the old treadle machine. I couldn't even reach the peddal - I was only 5 years old. But she taught me in those many hours of patience and kindness, accuracy and speed amoung other skills I have never forgotten over the years. I will say this her motto was - IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE CORRECT IT - IF YOU EXPECT GOOD RESULTS.

I used this yarn to make a pair of legwarmers. The pattern was poorly written and it turned out I had to hold the yarn double to make it work (no fault of the yarn).

The pros: I absolutely love how the finished product looks and feels. It is soft and squishy, and I believe they will keep the recipient's legs toasty warm. The gradual color changes are beautiful blends of red and violet.

The cons: I absolutely hated working with this yarn. Each strand is really two strands of different colors twisted together rather loosely. This results in constantly splitting each strand. Now consider that I was working with two strands held together; this meant that there were effectively 4 strands to each stitch. Generally I do not have a problem with split stitches, but I did it constantly with this yarn, even once I was aware of the problem.

Comments about JOJOLAND Melody Superwash:

Melody is as soft as the Rhythm, and I'm using it in a knitted lace sampler scarf on size US#6 needles, and it is perfect for this project. I will be including more in my stash!

This is a very lovely colorway and when I realized I didn't have enough to finish my project and needed two more skeins, this turned out to be just right.

    Comments about JOJOLAND Melody Superwash:

I purchased the yarn in four different colors at the same time. I purchased two skeins in two different colors to use for a sock pattern that called for this particular yarn. I haven't started the socks yet. I also purchased three skeins in two different colors to use for knitting shawls. I have a fairly new passion for knitting shawls and I currently have three different shawls on needles and one on a crochet hook, in progress. One of the shawls is using this yarn. So far, I have had no snagging or other problems with the yarn and it is pulling from the middle of the skein with no tangles or other problems. I appears as if the drape of the finished shawl will be very pleasant to wear. I look forward to seeing the full color spectrum emerge as I get further along with the project.

This is a very nice, fine weight yarn. The color changes are gradual with long runs. I used it to make an openwork scarf for a friend who spends the winters in Florida where it can be cool in the mornings and evenings.

            Comments about JOJOLAND Melody Superwash:

I love the colors in this yarn. Since I crochet, I never had a problem with the yarn splitting, but I could see how it would happen. I bought this yarn with a specific pattern in mind. The pattern called for a fingering weight yarn. No matter how small a hook I used I could not obtain the gauge with this yarn. I happened to look up the rating on Ravelry and they list it as a 'Light Fingering' weight. I would put it somewhere between Lace weight and light. I finally found another pattern calling for a Light Fingering yarn and my gauge matches up perfectly. The texture is nice and it frogs well. I would recommend this yarn to others, as long as they know the weight. I'll probably be buying more myself in another color-way.

I bought this yarn for a pattern I had that required 'fingering weight' yarn. No matter how small a hook I used, I could not make the gauge. I tried a couple of other patterns for the same weight and the same thing happened! I went to Ravelry and found that this is listed as a 'Light Fingering' weight. I finally found a pattern I like for this weight and sure enough, the gauge matches. The yarn itself is beautifully colored. I would recommend this to a friend, but I would be sure to let them know that it is more of a lace weight than a fingering.

So sorry to say this yarn for socks is terrible. Very course and terrible texture--not soft at all. I was surprised because the worsted weight yarn is fabulous.

I've used JoJoLand in both worsted and melody before and love watching the colors play out. The yarn is good quality and knits like a dream. Out of multiple projects I've found 1 knot that was a color break. Compared to a lot of really expensive yarns this is a great advantage. I picked out this color for a new grand-son and am going to use a pattern that swirls.. I can't wait to see how the colors work!
