Product Details

Lopi Einband is a laceweight, single-ply yarn with a slight thick and thin texture. Made from Icelandic wool, this yarn does soften considerably after blocking. Einband is lightweight and warm, making it perfect for special shawls and delicate colorwork sweaters.

Note: Projects made from Einband stretch and are therefore difficult to measure until they have been washed. Be sure to check your gauge before and after blocking.

Traditional Icelandic

I love lopi yarn. This is more stiff than other lopis but I think it would do well held with plotulopi as a 2 strand project. It is reported to soften after washing. I haven't used it yet.

Appears slightly lighter in color in person. Can't wait to cast this on!

I made this into a beautiful royal blue shawl

I bought this for an Icelandic shawl pattern. I have a couple of Icelandic sweaters, and when other reviewers said the yarn was coarse I mentally compared it to the sweaters and thought to myself ""well, they are scratchier than others, but not so much that I don't wear them."" However, the yarn is more like baling twine than anything I have ever used. It softened some when washed and blocked. BUT, and this is why I bought more for another shawl, it has incredible stitch definition after blocking.

Omg the colors. I haven't had a chance to use the yarn yet, but i can't wait.
