Beautiful color for Icelandic sweater

I'm using it for making an Icelandic sweater. I'm knitting it held together with a thin lace weight yarn, as directed by Helene Magnusson pattern. The blue color is very pretty with a blend of different tones. The unspun yarn is fragile, and this technique gives support.

this yarn is a pleasure to work with.I have made several sweaters .I would recommend that you use a magnetic yarn holder so you have less breakage. This yarn is fragile and breaks easy . You can splice it together and don't have to weave in where you start a new plate. It is warm but light in weight.

Many are intimidated by knitting with Plotulopi, as it is an unspun pencil roving (especially if one is a tight knitter), but the results are worth it. Lightweight but warm! Another option is to carry Plotulopi with another lace weight yarn like mohair/silk yarn. Holding these two strands together makes knitting with Plotulopi so much easier, softer and stronger. It also can influence the color in a beneficial way.

I knit with very loose tension so had zero problems with my first time using unspun wool. Haven’t quite fished the sweater yet, so don’t know if it will be fragile to wear, but I love the feel and light weight.

Lightweight and easy to knit. I'm using a carry-along strand of Einband.

The yarn is so light, fluffy and warm. Easier to work with than I expected. PS my cat loves to snuggle with it :)

I found this yarn so hard to work with as the fibers keep coming apart

Since this yarn has no twist, it was very hard to use.

Hello, Thank you so much for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear you found the yarn difficult to work with. Because the yarn has no twist, it can feel quite fragile and split easily while working with it compared to plied yarns. It often helps to use a gentle tension and a light touch, letting the fibres be guided rather than pulled tightly. While it can feel delicate when knitting, it’s designed to create a light, warm, and sturdy fabric once finished, and it also felts very well. Thank you again for sharing your experience - and if you need any help, we’re always happy to assist. Best wishes, Julie Yarn.com | WEBS www.yarn.com customerservice@yarn.com 1.800.367.9327
