Note: As with all hand-dyed yarns, colors vary from dye lot to dye lot. The yarn color you receive may look different than the color pictured below, and the skeins may vary one from the other even within the same bag. To ensure random color distribution, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball.

Please note: Malabrigo Sock is produced in dye lots of 5. Any order for more than 5 hanks will be of mixed dye lots.

I'm knitting two projects right now with this yarn: a lace mobius scarf & socks. The socks have been knit first, and they're the softest yet most sturdy I've ever knit to date (and I knit a LOT of socks!). I adore this yarn. Well worth the price.

I am using part of my purchase to make a shawl that called for fingering weight yarn. It is easy to work with and the color variations look really nice with the pattern I'm using. The remainder of the yarn will be used for socks and possibly a hat. The yarn is very good quality.

                Comments about   " Sock:

I found a pattern that is for a sock yarn shawl. I picked this yarn to do the section of colored lace. The colors are very pretty and the stitching stands out nicely. The yarn was nicely presented and it was easy to unwind the skein (which I find important). I am looking forward to finishing up the project so I can wear the light summery shawl.

I am knitting a Lucy Hague-designed blanket made up of many squares with Celtic cables. This yarn has such gorgeous, almost antique-looking colours, which blend together beautifully. It is so soft and a joy to knit with!

                    Comments about   " Sock:

Malabrigo sock is a great kettle dyed yarn in Malabrigo's stunning colorways, but the sock is a great workhorse yarn too. I have had terrible pilling with Mal. lace (not Silkpaca) but the sock is sturdy and doesn't pill (so far). It makes nice long-wearing shawls and sweaters. I have made lace crochet cardis and shawls with it.

Recently Malabrigo seems to have tightened their twist in the yarn, and it's not quite as mushy soft as their older base. I happen to like the older base better because that looser twist looks better in lace crochet. But Malabrigo's colors can't be beat, and it's certainly cheaper than other hand-dyed luxury yarns so I can buy it in big quantities for large crochet garments which suck a lot more yarn than knitting! I always have to remember, though, that their dyelot batches differ HUGELY.
