Great yarn but I Swatched 3 times (yes 3times) for a sweater project to get correct gauge and after I thought it was correct, my sweater length grew by 2 to 3 inches in length after blocking! I'll know for future projects. Also, the navy color did bleed when washing in Eucalan so I had to be really careful as this project was colorwork!
The yarn is really soft, the stitch definition is amazing and knits up quickly(I use Karbonz) there is a soft shine that is nice also.

I used this yarn for a two color child's sweater. When I began blocking in the washing machine with cold water the two colors bled together. I was able to recover most, not all, of the original colors with oxegyn bleach. Very disappointing for a yarn labeled as machine washable and dryer safe....
That said the yarn was a pleasure to knit with, soft and strong with no or little splitting. The darker color knit more to a do weight, but I wa able to get gauge by adjusting needle sizes.

Comments about 6.99 Haydenville:

Just completed an Afghan. Previous reviews commented that this yarn was lighter than worsted. Can't say 100% for sure but it's definitely a great afghan weight. Warm, substantial and great stitch definition. Reasonable price for a high quality yarn. Haven't washed it yet. Used 12 skeins and found a knot in one.

Knitting a scarf. The pattern shows nicely, even in the dark (Aubergine) color.

I made a whole blanket with this yarn and it is nice and soft, washable and dryable, with a wide range of lovely colors. I would highly recommend it. Slightly smaller than a true worsted weight, whatever that means. My friend liked it somuch she ordered the same colors and is making a blanket just like mine.

I love knitting with this yarn, great stitch definition. I think this is a good workhorse wool for children's everyday clothing. Warm and not itchy at all.

        Comments about 6.99 Haydenville:

Bought this yarn in two colors, to make hats. This is definitely not worsted weight, it's sport at best. It's much more drapey and floppy than I was expecting. I can forsee that creating a wear/stretch problem over time with my intended project.
I'm not thrilled, I would not buy this again.

          Comments about 6.99 Haydenville:

I was very excited to find the color I envisioned for this baby blanket. After reading the other reviews, I dread washing this blanket, fearing it may bleed. I will hand wash and add some vinegar to the water, which will hopefully help set the color.

Unfortunately, each skein of yarn had at least one knot in it.

The yarn was easy to knit with and is very soft.

I would use this yarn again, but probably not for color work.
