I have been using Haydenville for many, many years for knitting my Aran Isle designs. I especially love it for my own unique design for a neck-warmer. It is not knit on a circular needle. I love the softness of the yarn, and the excellent stitch definition makes the Aran designs stand out. I have sold almost 100 of them at craft fairs.
Too many knotted ends in the skeins
It works up great and feels great. It is washable, holds shape, and looks great! I am making a hat for my granddaughter.
I have purchased Haydenville since it debuted some years ago on the recommendation of a Webs employee. It is wonderful. I have used both the worsted and DK weights. For the last seven years I have knitted baby blankets for my four grandchildren and 14 great-nieces and nephews and they have all held up beautifully through much dragging around and hundreds of washings. It is by far the BEST yarn for baby wear!! Love it!
Have crocheted afghan’s and sweaters with Valley Yarns Haydenville. Great yarn to work with; shows stitch patterns beautifully. No splitting. In fact, I’m working on a sweater with a difficult pattern (language barrier), and have torn out the same skein multiple times and the yarn has held up well. Lots of nice color choices. I’ve made several sweaters for my 2 year grandson and they wash and dry surprisingly well.
Haydenville is a great Valley Yarn. It's a good balance of wool and acrylic, so care is easier. Haydenville works up beautifully in both crochet and knitting, showing pattern stitches well. It is a lovely weight for afghans, sweaters, scarves; it's a workhorse yarn!
Haydenville is a soft yarn perfect for the baby blanket I made. The blanket has various textures and this yarn gives them a clear definition while still draping softly. I absolutely love it and highly recommend this yarn!
I have used this yarn many times and have been very pleased with my results. My blankets have been primarily wedding gifts for family members. This yarn is a bit on the lighter side of worsted weight but works well in designs that have a lot of texture.. slight splitting but not unable to manage. My current project incomplete but my pics are of same yarn. Great price on this blended merino!
Haydenville has a lovely sheen and depth of color, and a soft hand. I enjoy working with it's stitch definition quality. Perfect for items worn next to the skin such as baby garments and scarves.
It is very soft for a wool. I'm making a cardigan. It's good so far.
