This is a fine single ply tweed that lends itself to colorwork. The ply is very consistent without too much thick-and-thin, and the twist is just tight enough to give it strength. It should bloom just enough after blocking so that the colors play together nicely. I’m making a hat that calls for 9 sts/in, on a 2.25mm needle, which is super tiny, and it’s working even though the ball band recommends 7 sts/in on a 3mm needle. One thing to be aware of is that these are 50g skeins with 200m of yarn, not 100g as one might expect with ********* weight yarn. This is actually better for colorwork.
This yarn is itchy which makes me concerned for final product. It tangles as I work with it.
This yarn has been disappointing to work with. I thought I was getting balls but they are hanks which I had to wind into balls. The yarn is itchy which makes me concerned for final product.
I’ve used Tahki Donegal yarns to make several afghans and have been very happy with the finished projects. The yarn is easy to work with and washed well by hand when my work was finished. I just ordered yarn to make my third afghan in light teal - the color is luxurious and happens to match well an Asian rug in my family room!
I bought the burnt orange yarn. I think it was just labeled orange, but had a brown undertone. I paired it with a thin thread of sparkly yarn because the person I was making it for wanted sparkly burnt orange. It was smooth to work with and worked up into a beautiful scarf.
Working on a shawl with the tweed in threevolrs. It's nice to work with and very pretty.
Beautiful colors! It looks lovely. Can’t wait to try it.
I purchased this yarn on sale. A great value yarn. I love the rich, deep red and lovely flecks of tweed. I really don’t feel the mohair in this but that’s ok. The yarn is definitely a light *********. There is a twist to the first skein that I have wound which I’m hoping will work its way out. So far I would buy again and as always the service and shipping from WEBS was flawless.
Used with Knit Picks Wool of Andes. LOVE!
It was my first time using this website and yarn. The delivery was fast and no issues. I actually ordered first time and when I saw the actual yarn I have ordered more . The quality is fantastic! Great place to look for the yarn for my future projects.
