Rowan Fall/Winter 2026 Has Landed: Alpaca Sparkle, Kaffe's Colours and the Kidsilk Haze Collection

Rowan's Fall/Winter 2026 collection has landed at Yarn.com — Alpaca Sparkle and its twelve-design pattern booklet, Kaffe Fassett's new Colours Collection, and a Kidsilk Haze pattern collection from four of Rowan's best-known designers.

Rowan releases often tend to be quiet extensions of what already works so well, but this seasonal launch leans hard into two things they do better than anyone else: luminous mohair and vibrant color! Between the genuinely festive Alpaca Sparkle, a bold new Kaffe Fassett colorwork collection featuring shades he personally curated, and a dedicated Kidsilk Haze pattern book that finally gives that iconic yarn the support it deserves, there is so much to get excited about.

The collection at a glance

Alpaca Sparkle — the holiday yarn that isn't a novelty

Alpaca Sparkle brings together 23% alpaca, 23% wool, 22% cotton, and 32% polyester—and that polyester percentage is the key! It isn't cheap filler; it's the color-matched micro-sequins spun directly into the strand. Because every sequin is dyed to match its exact shade, the fabric catches the light with a soft glow rather than a flashy glitter. That's the difference between a sweater you wear all winter long and one you wear just once.

Knitting at 13 stitches over 4 inches on a US 10 (a true bulky gauge) with 103 yards per ball, it works up fast! Just keep your budget in mind: bulky projects eat through yardage, so a full sweater will require a higher ball count. Care: Hand wash, dry flat.

Alpaca Sparkle Designs ($17.35) contains twelve Lisa Richardson designs written for this yarn — the Charisse and Kelly cardigans, the Gabor cape, and the Gardner scarf. Several are also sold as single PDFs if you prefer to make just one for the season.

Kaffe's Colours Collection

Felted Tweed is a beloved yarn base among knitters, and collection includes eight designs — sweaters, a cardigan, a tank top, accessories — built specifically on the shades he designed for Colours by Kaffe Fassett Felted Tweed ($15.75) and Colours by Kaffe Fassett Kidsilk Haze.

Felted Tweed combines 50% wool, 25% alpaca, and 25% viscose across 191 yards per ball. The secret is in the viscose: it absorbs dye differently than the wool, creating those iconic tweed flecks that keep Kaffe Fassett's geometric colorwork looking crisp and clean instead of muddy! If you've ever tried stranded colorwork in a flat, solid yarn and felt the result lacked life, this is the perfect fix.

The Kidsilk Haze Collection

Kidsilk Haze ($18.90, 100 shades) is 70% super kid mohair, 30% silk, and the new Kidsilk Haze Collection ($7.00) gathers designs from Kaffe Fassett, Lisa Richardson, Chloe Thurlow and Martin Storey in one beautiful book of patterns, in both English and French.

The two most important things to know about Kidsilk Haze:

It isn't really just a laceweight—it's a gauge chameleon! The ball band spans US 3 to US 8 (18 to 25 stitches over 4 inches), and that range isn't a guess. On a US 3, it creates a dense, cobwebby fabric; on a US 8, it opens up into the airy, floating halo most knitters fall in love with. Held double, it knits up like a cozy DK. That single 230-yard ball acts like five completely different yarns depending on your needle size, which is why having 100 shades makes so much sense!

When held alongside another yarn, it completely transforms its personality. Carrying one strand of Kidsilk Haze with a plain worsted wool turns a basic, flat sweater into a soft-focus showstopper without shifting your gauge significantly. Always knit a swatch, though! The halo blooms after blocking, so a swatch judged straight off the needles will look much tighter than your finished garment will.

Blending 70% virgin wool with 30% alpaca ($16.25, 137 yards per ball across 38 shades), its tight plies deliver exceptionally crisp stitch definition—a rare find in an alpaca blend, where the fiber usually blurs stitch details.
