Grace Akhrem Modern Hygge Shawl MKAL
The Grace Akhrem Modern Hygge Shawl MKAL is an exploration of technique and texture with a subtle play on color. Nothing too difficult, but also not too easy, just somewhere right in the middle. The shawl starts out very simple and gradually becomes more interesting with each clue.
For the most part, you will hold the DK weight Shibui Knits Echo with the Silk Cloud to add a bit of body to the stitches as well as a delicate halo. There are some portions where you are working the mohair single-stranded (on its own), and others where the mohair is doubled (onto itself). This allows for not only a play in fabric density but texture as well. The finished piece is quite large, yet light, and will be one of the coziest things you knit!
When choosing your colors, you will need the same three colors in each yarn. You can have as much for as little contrast as you like, just be sure that there is contrast between all three colors.
Join all the Mystery Knit-Along fun in the Grace Akhrem Ravelry group and be sure to use the #modernhyggeshawl and #gotmywebsyarn and tag @graceakhrem and @websyarn on Instagram to share your color choices and progress photos!
