WEBS Expert Knitter Certification Program

What is an Expert Knitter?
At WEBS, our mission is to empower knitters to become true experts, capable of confidently creating a wide range of garments with just yarn, needles, and measurements. An Expert Knitter moves beyond following patterns to master new techniques, adapt to any project, and embrace the art of knitting with skill and creativity. They possess the knowledge and confidence to construct hats, mittens, socks, and a variety of sweaters independently.

About the Program
The WEBS Expert Knitter Certification Program is a specialized curriculum designed to build the skills and confidence required of an Expert Knitter. In addition to our regular class offerings, this program provides a comprehensive and engaging path to certification.

The curriculum includes:
- 19 Core Classes/Workshops
- 3 Electives in areas such as knitting, crochet, dyeing, weaving, or spinning

Courses can be taken virtually (via Zoom) or in person at our Northampton, MA retail store.

Please note: students participating virtually will be expected to mail their projects to the store for assessment.

Other benefits include early access to all WEBS in-house and guest class offerings, membership in a dynamic, like-minded community of passionate knitters, personalised support and exclusive access to member-only WEKP Knit Nights.

Capstone Project
To complete the program, students will design, knit, and finish an original sweater, constructed in pieces from measurements. A dedicated mentor will guide each student through the process. The final project will be reviewed by a committee, and successful students will be awarded the WEBS Expert Knitter Certificate.

Program Fee
The program requires a one-time $95 enrollment fee, with an annual renewal fee of $85, prorated monthly. This fee is in addition to individual class and materials costs.
