BabyCocktails Plum Wine PDF
Baby Cocktails' Plum Wine is a classic cardigan with interesting lines at the shoulder and a beautifully delicate cable pattern. The motif is a combination of slipped stitches and cables, and the vertical lines in the detail make for a flattering silhouette in a long cardigan. It’s accented by bolder slipped stitches along the fronts, and the patterned body of the sweater is set off by simple stockinette sleeves and shoulders. The distinct, tailored shoulders show up beautifully in the heathered yarn, and the switch to stockinette makes knitting the shaping portion nice and easy! This is a versatile layering piece that can be worn year round.

Sizes: 32 (35.5, 38.75, 42, 44.5)(48.75, 52 ,55, 59.75)” Based on finished, blocked fabric around bust. I suggest a size that gives you about 3-4” of ease, based on bust, for fit as shown.
Yarn: Any worsted weight, 1350 (1450,1550,1650,1750)(1850,1950,2050,2150) yards needed. Shorter length uses about 150-250 yds less. Great choices would be Valley Yarns Northampton, Cascade 220 or Berroco Ultra Alpaca.
Needles: US 6 (long circs for the cardigan/button band. DPNS or long circs for sleeves).
Gauge: 24sts/28 rows in 2x2 ribbing, 26sts/28 rows in cable motif, and 20sts/28rows in stockinette in 4”. Gauge based on final fabric after blocking. If subbing yarn, work a large swatch in cable motif, as these cables can pull in a little more than expected over a larger piece of fabric.
