Classic Elite Soft Linen is a touchable wonder in a surprisingly soft blend. Linen adds durability and cooling properties, wool adds elasticity, and baby alpaca softens this squishy, multi-ply yarn. Soft Linen is great for spring and summer garments you can wear into the cool evening.

Wow - love the results I got with this yarn. I knitted the Porto sweater from Twist Collective in new fern (color 2281). It has a nice even twist, evenly dyed, no knots in the 10 or so balls I used, and makes a sturdy spit splice. I used a gentle (no pins) wet block to get the seed stitch edging to lay flat. The fiber content is perfect for a dk yarn, producing a cool weather weight garment with a little warmth and tremendous drape. I think the stray filaments of linen in the halo ad charm, but some folks may not like them.

This is a pretty descent wool and linen blend. It stretches just a bit to much for my taste. I have basically given up on linen and any blends of linen because of the stretch. This particular yarn was also a bit difficult to fix when you have to frog.its plus side is it is surprisingly soft having some linen in it.

My favorite linen so far

Comments about CLASSIC ELITE YARNS Soft Linen:

I absolutely love this yarn. I love linen, its strength, the way it takes dye, but I can never find linen patterns featuring sweaters that I would actally want to wear, i.e., they are often so lacy, they look like netting to me. I love that Soft Linen is a wool-alpaca blend. I'm making a sweater with it, a lighter weight sweater, true, but a more traditional sweater that I can wear both by itself as the weather begins to cool, and that I can wear as a layer underneath another heavier sweater as winter finally arrives. Beautiful color. I ended up making several swatches with one ball, and it's a testament to the yarn's strength that though having been knit up and taken apart repeatedly, it's still capable of producing a lovely, smooth, final fabric. The only negative thing I want to mention about this yarn is its price. Even on sale it was pretty expensive. For a project that doesn't call for many balls, though, I highly recommend Soft Linen

Comments about CLASSIC ELITE YARNS Soft Linen:

I have wanted to try Soft Linen for awhile and when it was offered by Webs on sale, I decided to give it a go. It has good stitch definition and softens as I work with it. It has a nice drape. I am mid-project - a sweater - so I can say what happens when it gets a good soak and blocking, but I suspect it will improve even more. The only think I don't like is the long linen fibers protruding from the plied yarn. I have been nipping them off with a scissors. Not a big problem. I just like things tidy.

Comments about CLASSIC ELITE YARNS Soft Linen:

I have always loved the look of linen yarn but have found it unpleasant to work with. 100% linen either slips off the needle, makes it hard to attach skeins, or is squeaky when I am knitting.

Soft Linen is a game-changer! I just knitted and blocked a swatch. The stitch definition is so crisp and the swatch held its shape well due to the wool and alpaca. I love the outcome and look forward to just the right project. The project selected must not need a lot of stretch to it.

Glad I picked this up during the Anniversary Sale. Thanks, Webs, for offering a product that will make me reconsider using Linen yarn!

I really an enjoying working with this yarn. It has a lovely softness with just enough of the linen texture. The cardi I'm making has lace panels and they are working up beautifully in Soft Linen.

I used this product for the CEY Geneva Shawlette.

The color pallette is rich and the yarn is very soft.
The best quality about this yarn is that after blocking the stitch definition and the drape of the garment is excellent.
