Born at Sea from E. Elliott Knits designed this
blanket for her nephew, born on the west coast of Canada. This lovely
blanket uses two stitch cables and a textured pattern of knit and purl
stitches. The pattern includes instructions for a baby blanket, wrap/shawl, and
afghan/throw. The cables and textured patterns are in chart form only.
Sizes: Baby Blanket (Wrap/Shawl, Afghan/Throw)
Finished Measurements: 26” wide and 27½” long (21” wide and 68” long, 42” wide and 58” long)
Yarn Requirements: 1000 (2000, 3000) yards of DK weight yarn such as Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash (100% Superwash Wool; 100g/220yds)
Needles: US 6 (4.00mm)
Gauge:
25 sts and 28½ rows = 4” in Seaweed stitch pattern
1 repeat of Wave pattern = 3¼” wide and 3½” long
20 sts and 30 rows = 4”
