I love this lace yarn. It's manufactured with some sort of super-superwash process that leaves the wool feeling like another fiber, very smooth and silky. Yet it retains the ease of handling that makes wool such fun to knit.

All that said, it's a very, very fine yarn. You get almost as much yardage in a 25g ball of this stuff than you get in a 50g ball of standard lace weight yarn. Note that this makes it half as thick as the lace weight that you may be used to.

I particularly love it for Shetland lace.

As a novice knitter, this is the first "lace weight" yarn I've used, therefore, I can't say much, pro or con, about the yarn. Just started on a poncho in which the pattern called for a more expensive yarn; but being a "knewbie knitter" I chose to spend less $$ on this project. Thus far I enjoy working with the yarn and its soft texture. Because it is lace weight, I quickly learn that knit needles designed for lace wt yarns was best for this project/yarn - - this was after several swatches using other needles. And, I've learned that working with lace weight yarn requires patience (lots) and precision (lots & lots). Now, I'm anxious to see the finished project.

Lovely lace yarn. I purchased the Midnight and Blush. They'll work up nicely for Spring and Summer shawlettes.

I love this stuff! I love to hold it, to work with it. It is so fine you feel you should crochet using just your fingertips. It sort of floats on the skin, nearly weightless, yet giving some warmth. I just wish I had more occasions to use this weight.

              Comments about 7.95 Nirvana:

This is the first time I've used such a fine yarn. Used this yarn to replace ribbed cuffs & bottom of a friends favorite sweater. Used 2 strands held together. The yarn made the ribbing look like a piece of artwork. It was very soft, had excellent stitch definition, stood up to ripping back to correct mistakes. This yarn would be beautiful as a shell, sweater, hat, scarf or anything you would want to make out of it. Very soft, with a lovely slight halo and also washable. I really couldn't find anything wrong with this yarn. It is an exceptional yarn.

I ordered three different colors, and all of them are perfect and incredibly soft, but a lot smaller than I was expecting. It's taken some time to get used to crocheting something so fine but it's worth it.

Really love the softness and weight of the yarn. I knit entirely by memory. I don't usually look at the work. With this yarn, I find myself checking a little more often because I cannot feel the yarn in my hand even when under tension. It is a dream to work with. The color options are amazing. The only advice I would have is to use needles with a more tapered tip.
