Introduction to Inkle Loom Weaving

You can create beautiful bands to use as yoga straps, camera bands, dog leashes, or edging for fabric on an inkle loom. There's no end to the creativity to be found in inkle loom weaving, and this introductory class will help students explore all the steps necessary to create these wonderful woven pieces. Students will have the opportunity to develop a design and choose colors, and then warp up the loom. Class discussion includes how to begin and end your piece and how to maintain an even beat, with the opportunity to practice more complicated pick-up designs. Having your own inkle loom is recommended, and WEBS stocks these looms for purchase. There is a materials fee included in the class cost.
