Bavarian
Mitts from Jen Hagan Design are women’s comfy fingerless mitts with a k2, p2
rib cuff graced with Bavarian twisted stitch cables on the hand's back and
stockinette stitch on the palms. The partial thumbs and finger collar is also
done in a k2, p2 rib pattern, which allows for free digits for handholding and
other essential tasks. The cable patterns are charted and written out.
Finished Measurements: 8 (8½)” circumference and 7½ (8)” in length
Yarn Requirements: Approximately 220 yards of fingering weight yarn such as Malabrigo Mechita (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/420yds)
Needles: US 2 (2.75mm) two 16” circular or DPNs
Gauge: 28 sts and 48 rnds = 4” in stockinette stitch, after blocking
