Product Details

The Fundamental Toe-Up Socks pattern from Jen Hagan Design is an expansive pattern with sizes for everyone and instructions for 4 different pattern weights! These socks feature a stockinette foot, short-row heel, and a garter rib cuff. The garter rib patterns are charted and written out.

     Fingering (superfine) – 100 (125, 155, 225) (300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 570) yards
     Sport (fine) – 90 (110, 140, 200) (280, 330, 375, 420, 460, 520) yards
     DK – 80 (100, 115, 150) (190, 225, 300, 335, 375, 420) yards
     Worsted – 60 (75, 95, 135) (185, 220, 250, 275, 320, 350) yards
Needles: DPNs; 2 circulars, or a 40” circular depending on your preference
     Fingering (superfine) – US 0–1 (2.00–2.25mm) 
     Sport (fine) – US 2–3 (2.75mm–3.25mm)
     DK – US 4–5 (3.50mm–3.75mm)
     Worsted – US 7–8 (4.50mm–5.00mm)
Gauge:
     Fingering (superfine) – 28–32 sts and 44–48 rows = 4" in pattern
     Sport (fine) – 24–28 sts and 32–36 rows = 4” in pattern
     DK – 20–24 sts and 28–32 rows = 4” in pattern
     Worsted – 20–22 sts and 24–28 rows = 4” in pattern

I found the pattern easy to follow and was please with the sock I made with it. The short row for making the heel was a bit confusing at first but I got the hang of it after a few tries!
