As with all Guernsey (Gansey) garments, these Gansey Two Socks from Jen
Hagan Design is covered with nautical
symbols that keep the knitting interesting. You’ll see flags, anchors, ropes,
and waves as you knit into these cozy socks made with sport weight yarn. Work
them with contrasting cuffs, heels, and toes or all in one color. Eighter way,
you’ll have fun with this top-down sock project. The Gansey patterns are
charted and written out.
Finished Measurements: 8½” foot circumference; 10 (11)” foot length and 7” high cuffs
Yarn Requirements: Approximately 400 yards of sport weight yarn such as Cascade Yarns 220 Sport (100% Peruvian Highland Wool; 50g/164yds)
Needles: US 3 (3.25mm) two 16” circular
Gauge: 26 sts and 38 rnds = 4” in stockinette stitch, after blocking
