Pros

  • It's soft and drapey

Cons

  • It is very "splitty" and has many knots

Best Uses

  • Probably scarves are best

Comments about 8.99 Ty-Dy:

The first ball I used had 6 knots in it - 5 of which were rejoined at totally different points in the colorway.
So I had to waste a lot of yarn trying to get the color going right again and in the end I had to rip out and start with another ball, which fortunately had only 1 knot in it. This yarn splits VERY easily, and it seems to stretch, as well. I finally made a scarf, which turned out pretty well.

Great cotton yarn in interesting colorways

Pros

  • nicely plied
  • soft

Cons

    Best Uses

    • anything with drape

    Comments about 8.99 Ty-Dy:

I'm not generally a fan of cotton yarns due to most being tough on the hands.
Ty dy is an exception though - it is very soft and smoothly plied and at the sale price it can't be beat.
I really like the long stripe gradients with the 'splashy' overlap of colors. It makes items with slipped stitches look amazing.

    Comments about 8.99 Ty-Dy:

This cottton yarn is so nice to work with on the normal size needles or larger for a lacey look. I have made one summer short sleeved top and several shawls for summer and warm weather wear. The items are a nice light weight and soft. This current project is the 4th I have used the Ty-Dy for. It has great yardage, I did not find knots, and the color combinations are quite nice. I have used 3 different colors and will buy more.

        • Cool to wear
        • Easy to knit
        • Enjoy Knitting The Yarn

        Cons

        • none

        Best Uses

        • Cool Sweater
        • Kids Wear
        • Summer top

        Comments about 8.99 Ty-Dy:

Have knitted a few summer tops with few different cotton yarn. This is the best. It dose not get into knot at the end of the ball, glide through the needle smoothly. It's not as rigid as other cotton yarn. It's a bit stretchable but not stretchy. Just love it and definitely getting more to knit summer wear. It's cool to wear as well.

        Service and delivery comments:

Great service and pack very nicely.
