Inspired by Iceland’s strong winds, Nelkin Designs’ Vindur features a sweeping, asymmetrical hemline and a simple, though unusual construction. The sweater starts off at the right cuff and is worked sideways with the front and back sections knit separately until they are joined again for the left sleeve. The separate front and back pieces are later joined when the sweater is folded in half and a garter stitch side seam is worked perpendicularly. To cap it all, Vindur is knit in Lopi Álafosslopi, a wonderful single-ply, bulky weight yarn that will keep you warm on the windiest days. This pattern is available as a PDF download.
