Pros

  • This washes and knits up beautiful in pattern.

Cons

  • Test wash dark colors, Navy bled would not stop.

Comments about 3.99 Summerlite 4 Ply:

I found every ball was hard to start as a center pull ball, 1/2 the ball pulled out when trying to do this. The yarn softened a good bit and knitting pulled up/in a small bit when machine washed and tumbled dry to damp (then laid flat). The Navy bled and would not stop loosing color not matter how I treated the swatch. Test your colors. The yarn knits beautiful color work yokes as colors coordinate well with each other.

Yarn is not spun tightly, don't think I'd buy it again

Comments about 3.99 Summerlite 4 Ply:

While the price was reasonable, sadly I've learned you get what you pay for. The yarn is not spun tightly and is prone to splitting while being knit.

I've only knit a few swatches with it - nice stockinette "hand," very soft, and good stitch definition for lace.

I am making a Shawl and a lace sweater and both are working out just beautifully. I am very pleased with this yarn and would buy again. You do have to use small needles but I am finding the stitch definition is more precise with fingering weight yarn and small needles.
