Tamara Moots’ Rock Art Shawl uses straightforward knits, purls, and basic cables to obtain the rock art or petroglyphs found in historical sites throughout Arizona. The main body of the Rock Art Shawl s a triangle worked from the top down in stockinette stitch with simple yarn over increases, garter tab cast-on, garter stitch edging and finished with cable panels. The Rock Art Shawl is part of Tamara Moots’ Arizona Collection along with the Sedona Cowl and Grand Canyon Scarf. The cable patterns are charted and written out.

Yarn Requirements: 650 yards of worsted weight yarn such as Malabrigo Rios (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210yds) shown in Sunset
Needles: US 7 (4.50mm) 32” or longer circular
Gauge: 18 sts and 22 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch, after blocking
