Tunisian Crochet Basics - ()

Tunisian Crochet Basics

Do you love crochet, but sometimes feel a bit jealous of the projects your knitting friends make? Tunisian, or African, crochet is a blend of crochet and knitting techniques that result in knit-like finished fabrics. Learn the subtle differences in the construction of Tunisian stitches while developing your Tunisian pattern and chart-reading skills. This is a technique class, where we'll swatch different stitch patterns.

Prerequisite: Crochet I or equivalent
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Tuesdays, 9/17, 9/24, 10/1
Materials Required:

  • 100 yards total of smooth, plain, light-colored worsted weight yarn in a minimum of 2 colors. Wool or wool blend or cotton/cotton blend are preferable.  PLEASE DO NOT use single or chain ply yarns, black or very dark colors, white, or variegated yarns, flat tape-like yarns, novelty yarns, slubby yarns, or anything with a halo/fuzz such as mohair. These yarns make it very difficult for students to read their work while learning new stitches.

  • Knit and  Crochet Tool Kit
