We love the absorbency and softness of our 6/2 Unmercerized Cotton and realize it’s perfect for Valley Yarns Lavender Bubbles, a big thirsty bath towel. This towel is thick and cozy, perfect for drying off and wrapping up. The pattern is a fun shadow weave design that combines diamonds and circles (bubbles) for an eye-catching look.
Equipment: 8 shaft loom, 36” minimum width, 2 shuttles, 2 bobbins, 6 or 8 lb. fishing line, temple
Warp and Weft Yarns: Valley Yarns 6/2 Unmercerized Cotton (100% Cotton; 2,520 yds/0.90 lb cones) shown in 1,617 yards shown in Cornflower* and 1,517 yards shown in Pale Yellow
Warp Length: 3½ yards of 587 ends (including 2 floating selvedge)
Sett: 18 epi (1-2 in a 12-dent reed)
Finished Dimensions: 28¾” wide and 58” long
Weave Structure: Shadow Weave (based on the Powell method)
