Product Details

The Quadrants Shawl from Valley Yarns is a generously sized shoulder wrap is perfect for taking the chill off of a cool spring or summer evening and works especially well with sleeveless dresses for formal or semi-formal events. Valley Yarns 8/2 Tencel is a silky smooth yarn that features a beautiful sheen and fluid drape that creates stunning finished pieces. Designed to produce two full shawls (while swapping colors in the warp and weft) from just two cones, this draft gives you the option to maximize your weaving output for your yarn purchase. This design is in WIF format, so weavers can electronically store and modify weaving drafts, display them graphically with weaving software, and use them to drive computer-assisted looms. Note that you will need over 1 lb of each color to weave two full shawls.

Equipment: - 8-shaft loom with a minimum width of 2, 1 shuttle, 1 bobbin. 12-dent reed is highly recommended.
Warp Yarns: 2100 yards Valley Yarns 8/2 Tencel (100% Lyocell, 3,360 yds/lb, sold on ~1 lb cones), shown in Eggplant and Dark Teal
Weft Yarns: 1168 yards Valley Yarns 8/2 Tencel (100% Lyocell, 3,360 yds/lb, sold on ~1 lb cones), shown in Dark Teal and Eggplant
Warp Length: 3ВЅ yards of 600 ends, including a tripled floating selvedge on one end and a doubled floating selvedge on the other.
Sett: 24 epi (2 per dent in a 12-dent reed) for main body, 36 epi (3 per dent in a 12-dent reed) for selvedges, 20 ppi
Width in reed: 24ВЅ"
Finished Dimensions: 23" x 73", excluding fringe
Weave Structure: Point Twill

Note: This pattern can be woven with either color in the warp with the other color in the weft. It is designed to pro-
duce two shoulder wraps using only two cones of yarn. After the first piece is complete, I like to knot the second warp
of the opposite color onto the first one. It's a little quicker than starting from scratch and re-threading 600 heddles.
