The Valley Yarns line of mercerized perle cottons in 3/2, 5/2, and 10/2 is put up on standard one pound cones for weavers and machine knitters. The Valley Cotton line features 50+ sumptuous colors dyed for color fastness, but of course, be sure to test your sample the way you want to finish your fabric. 5/2 cotton weaves beautiful blankets, towels, table runners, and more, and the color range makes it easy to find just the right shades for your next project. Spun and dyed exclusively for WEBS.Sett: 15-20 epi.

I'm using this yarn/ string to embroider squares for a quilt as you go jacket. It is mercerized, which means it is shiny in a glowy sort of way. If I had to buy perle cotton it would have been much more expensive. I love the way this is turning out.
I wove a table runner and placemat set for a project to publish in Hanwoven magazine. I have been a regular customer of Valley Yarns 5/2 cotton. I like the price and efficient delivery of my orders. I've submitted the project to the magazine. Waiting for approval. So, cannot share photos at the moment.
I have used this yarn before and it has been soft and nice, but this spool was stiffer and doesn't have the softness of the other colors I have used. It just doesn't have the same softness or drape. I am mixing in bamboo to help. I am not real happy with it. I am weaving shawls. I am using it, I already used it and that is why I know that it is not the same.
I'm using it for making my brother a guitar strap. I will be using my inkle loom. The choices in yarn and the process are wonderful. The prices are wonderful. The process is good too.
I am super pleased with all the 5/2 cotton I purchased. It has perfect drape. The color is constant throughout (I purchased 5 different colors). I highly recommend and am looking to buy more.
I am currently weaving a variety of drafts in one continuous length using this 5/2 as my warp. I've been experimenting with some sections of 5/2 weft and some sections of 3/2 weft. The 5/2 thread is slightly sticky (from fibers catching each other, not residue) so I do find that I frequently need to clear my shed by beating an extra time after switching to my next pass. This is not a major concern for me but others could find it slows them down if they are used to working fast. I have found a...

Valley yarns are an excellent online value, the cotton, bamboo, and alpaca/silk are all strong and very good for weaving. Alpaca varieties only come in lace weight. 5/2 and 3/2 cotton are excellent for throw and flat weave rug warps.
I'm using this for dishtowels. I like the color selection and the prompt service from WEBS. The weaving shrunk a LOT--I don't know how this compares to other 5/2 yarns. In spite of the shrinkage, the washed towel is so soft and absorbent!
This 5/2 size yarn is great. I like the variety of colors. It works up nicely; well defined stitches and no splitting. I wish there weren’t so many colors out of stock.
