Comments about 2.49 Webster:

I used this for a baby blanket which was a combination of machine and hand knitting. This is a strong, nicely manufactured yarn. Since I did not want to give a new mother a hand-wash wool blanket I went with this blend which has a nice soft hand for a wool/acrylic blend.

Comments about 2.49 Webster:

I wasn't crazy about how this turned out so I gave it to another Marcher as I had 3 others that I had made with other yarn that I like better

Comments about 2.49 Webster:

Haven't used this yet but it is already balled (woohhoooo!!!) and doesn't need to be wound and in my book that gives it a "3-star rating" (I hate winding those expensive yarns, for as much as you pay for them, why aren't they ALREADY balled???? Am I the only one who notices something wrong with that symmetry?). I can't wait to use this as it is soft right out of the package and the color is beautiful and rich (I purchased enough pink AND brown skeins to make 2 sweaters)!

Average At Best Wool Blend Yarn

Pros

Cons

  • Not Dk Weight
  • Not Soft

Best Uses

Comments about 2.49 Webster:

If you're expecting a DK weight yarn, this is NOT it. This is essentially a worsted weight yarn, just a hair under. Just have no expectations that it will act like a lightweight yarn. Otherwise, this is a good-value wood blend yarn of average quality. It's not soft against the skin, so I wouldn't recommend it for garments.

Not even worth the sale price

    • Scratchy

      Comments about 2.49 Webster:

Considering the price, I did not expect the finest quality. However, when ordering from WEBS, I expect a certain minimum quality standard. This yarn feels scratchy and cheap. The gauge feels slightly thick for DK, but I could live with that. The description says this yarn is appropriate for baby items. I can't even make myself a sweater. UGH!
