A Trio of Intermediate Techniques


Learn to knit a picot hem, a Latvian braid, and use mosaic (slip stitch) colorwork, which uses only one color at a time, while ending up with a gorgeous cowl to keep you (or a special someone) warm this winter!

Skill Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: Knitting II or equivalent

Time: 6:00pm–8:00pm
Materials Required:

  • The Bridewell Cowl pattern (Required, 15% discount)
  • Yarn: Worsted or aran weight yarn 265 (340, 530, 680) yards total, divided as follows: 165(190, 330, 380) Main Color and 100(150, 200, 300) yards Contrast Color, plus about 80 additional yards of each color for swatching and practice
  • Needles: US5 and US9 circular needles (small uses 16" cable, medium uses 24" cable, large and extra-large use 32" or 40" cable.
  • Stitch marker
  • Tapestry needle to weave in ends and sew hem
  • Your Knitter's Tool Kit
  • Scissors or yarn snips
